IT Technician

(ViewPoint support)

Logistics:

  • Start Date as soon as possible

  • Will report to the Tengiz-based FGP IT Service Delivery Manager

Brief Job Description:

Support the newly-deployed ViewPoint software platform for the FGP project.  Tasks include:

  • Receiving requests for help from customers

  • Triage and prioritization of requests for help

  • Solving customer problems related to the ViewPoint software platform

  • Basic troubleshooting and support of the various IT solutions running within the ViewPoint platform including:

    • SharePoint

    • Shared Drive

    • Microsoft Exchange

    • Skype

    • Lync

  • Calling, email, and sometimes desk-side visits to customers who need help

 

 

Specific Candidate Skills:

 

Required:

  • Kazakhstan resident

  • Education in Information Technology or at least 1 year technical work experience in Information Technology

  • Verbally fluent in either Kazakh or Russian

  • Verbally fluent in English

  • Demonstrated problem solving/analytical skills

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Teamwork skills; Self starter

  • Organizing and Planning skills

 

Preferred:

  • IT Customer Support experience

  • SharePoint support experience

  • ViewPoint software platform experience

ViewPoint Support roles include, but not limited to:

  • Work with the Programme manager to assist with reporting and tracking issues, and monitoring user levels

  • Helping communicate the ViewPoint strategy and philosophy

  • Work with the FGP IT Compliance Team to ensure all policies are followed

  • Coordinate with TCO and Chevron support teams to resolve issues

  • Participate in system testing

  • Provide High Quality Customer Relations & Support

  • Respond promptly to customer problems reported to the IT Help Desk.

  • Communicate professionally with clients, identify the problem, resolve or escalate the problem.

  • Conduct brief end-user training while on support calls, as necessary.

  • Provides timely & professional quality service to customers.

  • Work to improve overall ViewPoint support proces

 

Training

  • Assist the ViewPoint Training Team with training end users.

  • Conduct 1-2-1 solution overview sessions with end users.

  • Conduct 'walkaround' deskside support with business teams.

  • Help create and update training materials.

  • Ensure the Information Protection of our Systems and Data and the Safety of our workplaces and personnel.

Teamwork

  • Respond cooperatively to team-members requests for assistance.

  • Distribute information on problem resolution techniques to other team-members.

  • Request assistance from experienced staff members to resolve customer problems promptly and effectively.

  • Work closely with members of the IT organization to understand and communicate IT directions to TCO clients.

Communication

  • Utilize email & telephone effectively to communicate with team members and customers.

  • Demonstrate good ability to communicate in English on the telephone, email and in person.

 

Technical Skills

  • SharePoint

  • Familiarity with Windows 10, Windows 7

  • MS Office applications

  • Skype

  • PC Hardware components

  • University degree in the business, computer or engineering fields of study

  • Follow and enforce Information Protection standards
